This was my first Purito bar. I was looking for a basic facial bar to either replace or occasionally swap out my trusty Cetaphil bar for nighttime post-makeup cleansing. This was just average — I’ve had it for over a month and unlike any skincare product I’m in love with, it’s still sitting there, mostly unused. The texture is a bit rough for my liking (I’d recommend lathering in your palms first). It does build up a generous lather, which I appreciate. It also may have triggered a breakout on my acne-prone skin. It tends to stain my soap dish with brown remnants, but that’s minor, as it washes off easily.
This soap combined with Purito serum and moisturizer has given me the best skin of my life. I use the soap on my face and body. Took about two weeks to see a difference, my skin purged a little but I went from textured, red skin to smooth and clear. Purito is vegan and cruelty free which is very important to me. I do wish the bars were bigger though, they’re expensive and I go through them quickly.
I use this as a body wash. The first time I used this soap I was disappointed because it felt like it left a residue. It felt like it was cleaning my skin though, and it wasn't a soapy/sticky/oily/tightening kind of residue. Plus I'd paid for it so I planned to just use it up. After using it 1 or 2 more times I noticed my skin was moisturized & staying supple and comfortable for like 24 to 36 hours after using this soap in my normal routine, where I would have started feeling dry w/in 10 or 12 hours before this soap. My normal routine is wash with soap, use witch hazel as a toner, then a thin layer of coconut oil & then pat my skin dry, so I don't use the soap alone, but having only switched the soap out (replaced Dr Bs castile bar w/this) my skin is staying comfortable and velvety for twice as long. That residue in the shower disappers when I dry off, too. Only soft skin stays. I love this stuff. Will definitely buy more.
